NOTES:

Contributions - Remember that Boeing will make matching contributions made by Boeing retirees to qualified charities through the Boeing Gift Matching Program. For retirees, Boeing will match your contribution $0.50 to the dollar for your donations of up to $3000 in matching donations/calendar year. In general, qualified organizations are K-12 and higher educational institutions, accredited technical schools, non-profit cultural and arts organizations, including nonprofits that support land trusts and publicly owned parks. Note: The Boeing Gift Matching Program Form is no longer used. You can now only submit gift matching requests on line or by telephone. To do so online, go to http://boeing.com/express and log on using your BEMISD and your TotalAccess pasword. This will take you to your MyBoeingExpress home page. Select the TotalAcess link (first line under the intoductory paragraph). In the TotalAccess page, select My Community Giving and follow the instructions. To make a gift matching request by telephone, contact the Boeing Gift Matching Center at 1-877-217-6379.

EVENTS/ACTIVITIES OF INTEREST:

Sigma Xi of Orange County - Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society, is a national organization with a mission statement from their web page ( http://sigmaxi.org/ ) of "To enhance the health of the research enterprise, foster integrity in science and engineering, and promote the public's understanding of science for the purpose of improving the human condition." Meetings are are open to all and are held on the third Tuesday of the odd-numbered months, at the DoubleTree Club by Hilton Hotel Orange County Airport

The usual schedule is:
6:30 - networking, conversation, no-host bar.
7:00 - dinner. The menu will be on the "Next Meeting" announcement page.
8:00 - the speaker's presentation, followed by Q&A, usually lasting till about 9:30

Drawing on the Southern California academic and technology communities, the Orange County Chapter offers the opportunity to hear from world class speakers from a wide range of scientific disciplines. If you would like the opportunity to hear these speakers, use the contacts listed in the Orange County Chapter's web site to be placed on their mailing list. Note that you have the option of attending the presentation without the dinner if you so desire.

Lyon Air Museum - If you would enjoy seeing a beautifully restored North American B-25 (See photo below.) as well as other WW II vintage aircraft and vehicles, visit the newly opened Lyon Air Museum located on the west side of John Wayne Airport.
